A Birthday card for a little girl

My niece is turning three soon ( such an adorable age) and her favorite place on earth is the "Zoo". She loves going to the zoo to look at animals, especially the elephants. So for her birthday card, I decided to bring the zoo to her...or at least as much as I could fit in to my center step card.
If  I could, I am sure I would have fit in some more Magnolia stamps in my card, but I had to stop at six :)

The card is a center step card. The grass is simply hand cut from a green strip of paper. The clouds are also hand drawn, cut and edged with glitter. The sentiment is hand written.

Coloring all these animals and of course, Tilda, was a lot of fun. Do animals blush or not ???? In any case, I decided to give the elephant some rosy cheeks.... but not Miss MuuMuu

The two Tilda images are
Tilda with the Kookaburra
Tilda with a cute lamb

The tag at the farthest, hidden in a pocket, is available for writing personalized messages.

The card does neatly fit in to an envelope for mailing. Surprisingly, with all the different stamps and fussy cutting, it ends up being quite flat!

A quad easel card

Easel cards are fun to make, so I guess a Quad-easel card is four-times the fun?
Fun or not, they definitely are a treat for the eyes once finished. So drum rolls please....here is my first quad-easel card.

I needed to use the Magnolia mini stamps to make this  card. I chose the four images to represent the places we have been or lived in - India, USA, Spain and Japan.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum - the card has too many things going on as is. The easels, each open up to reveal a message/ compliment.

Inside, I used one of my favorite quotes from Winnie-the-Pooh.

Back after a long hiatus

It feels good to be back with a card that I made recently. It is a double tag card, the first one I ever made and the tutorial for the same can be found at Double Tag card. It is a relatively easy card to make though does look rather complicated, doesn't it?

The stamp is Saturated Canary and was a delight to work with. Though, if you look closely ( actually, not so closely will also do), I messed up the coloring near her neck. Remind me never to work in fading light again :(

OF the two tags that can go in to the card, I left one blank for the messages. Now for the tools used part, The flowers are punched out whereas the green buds / flower is a Memory box die.  The stamp " just saying hi" is actually from a long time ago and I am not sure of the manufacturer.

The song that I love is " Homeward Bound" by Simon & Garfunkel. It does look like this sweetheart is on her way home, doesn't it?
