It has been a while since I updated my blog. Things just got a bit crazy, that's all. But here I am back again, with a birthday card which was actually lots of fun....
I started with the sketch at Everybody-art-challenge
And this is what I came up with...
The magnolia stamp is from their new Easter collection, Tilda with a big tulip pot. As usual, very cute..I colored the image with the softest and lightest colors in my collection and I kind of like the result. The papers are from K&Company. I added a small strip of burlap to give some texture. The flower on the lower left is a pile up of two snow flakes and flower die cut - all from Spellbinders.
I needed to use the ribbon to tie the card close because you see, this card does not lie flat. In fact, this may be the fattest card I ever made :)
The inside of the card is a pop-up with a sitting tilda image. The hearts as well as the sentiment are hand drawn / written and cut.
The back of the card has a simple sentiment- also making sure that the ribbon stays in place :)
So, while I enjoyed making the card, I am not very happy with its size - doesn't leave much room for a personal message. I am sure I would soon try another of these cards, this time. just a bit bigger...
